Gryphon Hover Bike- concept design project
The Gryphon Hover Bike design project highlights:
This concept design project was created for an US based client with the requirement of designing a hover bike with
the below set of specifications resembling a gryphon in its body style form.
The hover bike essential has the following tech specifications:
- An electric powered propulsion hover bike
- Four propellers two each in front and rear located on either side of bike main body
- Propellers swivel and rotate during various operations of take-off, flight and landing
- Battery pack located in the central body structure
- Essentially for a single rider, but with provision for two in design
Before starting with the design journey, a small study of the legendary gryphon was done to
understand the basics of the creature:
- Gryphon is a legendary creature often depicted as a symbol of divine power and intelligence
- It is a powerful and majestic creature: fusion of an eagle (king of birds) and a lion (king of beasts)
- It has the body, tail, and back legs of a lion and the head, with prominent ears and wings of an eagle
Keeping in mind the essence of the gryphon and taking styling clues from its form, the idea sketches were prepared.
A majestic and powerful aerodynamic form language was created and concept refinements were done in the same direction.
The final concept design key features:
- The body styling basics follow the fusion nature of the inspirational form - a black body form cased within an outer red shell
- The overall aerodynamic stance of the vehicle portrays the powerful and majestic aura of the too.
- The headlights add to the eagle eye character
- The tail fins at the rear bear resemblance to the lion tail
